There is definitely a strong female lean to my illustrations. Honestly, I just think women make for more interesting subjects than men. Maybe it's because I'm a woman and have a more intimate point-of-view into womanhood, who's to say? (Hint: that's the exact reason.) But I find joy in portraying women and girls of different shapes and cultures as beautiful, powerful and joyful. I also enjoy the occasional self-deprecating drawing of myself from time to time (it's like that old chestnut, "you have to laugh at yourself to keep from crying all the time in public in front of everyone," right?)
